Applied Panel

Fanatic Finish can 'Help You Get the Details Done Right' the first time with our ‘Classic’ style Applied Paneled Wainscoting. An Applied Paneled Wainscot wall treatment offers a look and feel that is similar to our true Raised, Flat and Bead-Board paneled versions. Applied Panel Wainscoting is a cost effective alternative that mimics this time honored detail by simply cutting and applying individual pieces of molding to your existing wall substrate (drywall or plaster) in the shape of individual panels with a chair rail installed above and a base molding installed below the panels.

Typically installed at a finished height of between 32 and 42 inches (in rooms with 8ft ceilings), our ‘Classic’ Applied panel style adds visual substance and weight to the lower portion of your walls setting a foundation for additional architectural details such as an Archway, Crown Molding or a Coffered Ceiling.

Our Applied panel wainscoting is installed onsite using stock molding lengths and the installation process takes about twice as long to complete as our custom pre-assembled Wainscot panel systems do. Each project is first measured and laid out with chalk lines on your walls and then completed by cutting and installing each individual piece of molding for a perfect fit with your walls and with your unique style.

There are 3 basic ways to orient or layout the Applied Panel Wainscoting for each room or area being treated with the end goal being consistency in any given space.

1. Horizontal Orientation
When your wainscot panels are oriented 'horizontally' each wall section is divided up into the number of panels that makes each panel wider than it is tall. This layout tends to give the impression that a space is longer than it may actually be.

2. Square Orientation
When your wainscot panels are oriented to be 'square' each wall section is divided up into the number of panels that yields sizes that are as close as possible in width and height.

3. Vertical Orientation
When your wainscot panels are oriented 'vertically' each wall section is divided up into the number of panels that makes each panel much taller than it is wide. This layout tends to give the impression that a space is higher than it may actually be.
